Leachate Management – A Sticky Situation

The SWANA Land of Lincoln Chapter is excited to announce its Annual Fall workshop and membership meeting, scheduled for October 7, 2021 at the Village Links in Glen Ellyn. Come hear from industry professionals about the issues facing industry related to per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and leachate management, followed by a tour of a local PFAS project.

Sanitation Workers Support Fund

Solid waste and recycling collection is a critical and essential part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The men and women working in the waste and recycling collection industry are on the front lines of protecting human health and the environment. SWANA is collaborating with Glad to support sanitation workers across the United States and Canada personally affected by COVID-19 through the Sanitation Workers Support Fund. For workers in the front-line of waste and recycling collection, financial assistance may be applied for. Visit for further information on the application process.

What's New with the Land of Lincoln Chapter

It is SWANA's mission to advance the practice of environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste in North America. For over 50 years, SWANA has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field, serving over 10,000 members throughout North America, and thousands more with conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses.
Our membership includes local and state government officials; engineering and planning consultants; owners and operators of solid waste facilities and waste and recycling haulers. The Land of Lincoln Chapter offers many opportunities for solid waste professionals, including:
